I was getting the same behavior between both computers with the same TV tuner card. I shutdown ALL non essential processes - which only helped it marginally. While playing/recording tv it would max the CPU (which is normally idle at 0%-1%.įor diags I dumped a 2.0GHz CPU, 256MB Video Card, put in another computer with a much better motherboard and video card, 1GB Dual Channel RAM, put in a second hdd stictly for recording (all HDDs are 7200RPM). I would normally have to reset the computer to get everyting back. The recording would rutinely error, the video and audio wern't always in sync and when I would close the aplication, it would often give a unhandled exception error. The system took forever to load and the video was sometimes clear, but 95% of the time the the video was flat, like looking through a 1970s tv. It DOES NOT controll the mouse!!! I got the system setup far exceeding the manufacture's recommendations. The remote is poorly setup and hardly works.

There were no clear instructions on which order to install the software or what each feature/option would do. I had it hooke dup to my Tv an intended to use it for a DVR/PVR since my set top box DVR is a junker and it crashes all time (although is more stable than this card).

I'm the IT dept for a local bank and i've worked in a computer store while going to college.
